Community Support, Support L&R

L&R invests $2,500 into local community organizations

CKXU Radio Society's annual event Love & Records is proud to announce that $2,500 has been invested back into local community organizations through proceeds from the annual cash raffle over the past three years!  Each year the Love & Records committee selects one beneficiary organization and has designated a portion of the cash raffle proceeds to support the good work taking place in our community.  Lethbridge Girls Rock Camp, Last Chance Cat Ranch, and the Boys and Girls Club of Lethbridge have all benefited from past donations.

This year the Love & Records organizing committee is taking a different approach:

  • thanks to the support from the University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College there will be a Ferris Wheel on site at Love & Records!  Rides will be BY DONATION so that there are no barriers to participation.  Donations will be collected for the purposes of two local scholarships - available to Lethbridge College and University of Lethbridge students who are pursuing studies in media, journalism, and/or radio broadcast;
  • this year's cash raffle will be a 50/50 draw - proceeds from this raffle will go to CKXU Radio Society and to the winner.

We encourage past supporters and Love & Records enthusiasts to plan to be in attendance at this year's event and to support both our 50/50 draw and our Ferris Wheel scholarship program.  We also encourage you to consider making a cash donation to a local non-profit organization that is committed to doing good in Lethbridge - like the Boys and Girls Club of Lethbridge, Last Chance Cat Ranch, or Lethbridge Girls Rock Camp!

CKXU's Love & Records is a free community event that believes in reinvesting in our community thanks to the overwhelming support from our community.  Thanks to everyone that has made the past three years of community investment possible.  We look forward to creating scholarship opportunities for students in Lethbridge and hope you will help us achieve our goal of raising $2,500 in 2016!
